About us
Nordic Otthon started in 2019 in the living room of a flat in Óbuda, Budapest. Kata worked as an interior designer and Bence as a joiner, and both kept running into the same problem: it was getting harder to find textiles, ceramics and furniture made to last decades rather than a season or two. So we began visiting Scandinavian and Hungarian workshops whose work we would happily keep in our own home.
Less, but better
Scandinavian interiors are not about white walls and blond wood but about restraint. We choose objects that are beautiful but above all useful: the mug sits well in the hand, the throw actually keeps you warm, the lamp does not glare. We live with every product for at least a month before it joins the collection.
Natural materials, transparent sourcing
European linen, mulesing-free wool, FSC-certified oak, lead-free glazed stoneware and plant-based soy wax. For every product we tell you where and by whom it was made – our partners, from Denmark to Finland to Pécs, are small workshops where the makers still know each other by name.
